Biking / mountainbiking

Over the years the interest in biking has increased enormously. Bart Brentjes proves to be an excellent ambassador for mountainbiking.

The Amstel Curaçao Race, in which mountainbikers of international renown take part, is organised yearly. Slowly but surely Curaçao is becoming a pertinent presence on the international mountainbiking-calender.

A mountainbike takes one to places that are inaccessible for people who travel by car or on foot. The paths have varying levels of difficulty but they have one thing in common:  they have all been set up in nature areas so that while biking one can enjoy the  beauty of Curaçao’s nature.

We strongly advise to take a guided tour. There are some maps, but except for the Christoffelpark one does not find signposts anywhere. Around vacation house Flamingo-Fun the following guided tours are on offer: Zoutpannen, Christoffelpark, Hato Plateau, Boca Sami, San Pedro, Malpais, San Juan and Porto Marie.

Wannabike is one of the companies offering guided tours and rental mountainbikes. Wannabike’s employees can show you the way, offer you tips and help when you get in trouble and generally possess a lot of information about historical, cultural and natural facts on Curaçao.

In view of the fact that it can get very, very hot around noon most of the guided tours take place early in the morning or late in the afternoon. More information can be found when you follow the link to Wannabike. It is possible to have your guided tour start from the vacation villa.
