Sights to see
Around Flamingo-Fun and Sint-Willibrordus you can see and do a lot of the things that make Curaçao such an attractive place for vacationing. Nearest are the Zoutpannen (former salt plantations) with their flamingos and the country estate Jan Kok. About every square mile of the south coast boasts a nice beach, your start for a swimming, snorkeling or scuba diving expedition.
Santa Cruz, with ‘Captain Goodlife’ as your diving instructor and cook; Grote (big) and Kleine (small) Knipbaai; Playa Lagun, the most beautiful lagoon of the island where you can swim with turtles; Playa Kalki and on the most northerly spot of Curaçao there is Watamula, where the sea ground away a grandiose hole in the rocky bottom.
The north coast is also called the ‘wild coast’ and for a good reason.
No swimming paradise but magnificent nature in Christoffelpark, Boca Table and several other bocas where the sea has pounded against the steep rocks for ages.
Hato Plain, a part of which was used to build the airport, offers a sensational spectacle of desert, cliffs and a tempestuous sea.
Of course the colourful, lively Willemstad is not far away when one wants a day of citylife instead of sports or nature
