Christoffelpark 

About 25 minutes from Flamingo-Fun’s vacation villa you find Christoffelpark, over 2.000 ha of hilly landscape around three former country estates.

Apart from cactuses of any and all variety one finds several species of orchids and an abundance of bromelia.

In Boca Grandi seaturtles swim and in the park one may encouter rare animals like the Curaçao whitetail deer, the coachwhip (snake ) and several species of bats. Less rare are iguanas, which gives you more chance to encounter one of those.

The hiking paths offer breath-taking views of the untamed coast. Drinks and food (and bathrooms) can be had at one of the old country estates.

The Christoffelberg, at 375 meters the highest place in Curaçao, can be climbed if you are reasonably fit. Because of the afternoon heat it is advisable to start early in the morning. Take along enough water! The final part requires a lot of scrambling, using hand and feet, through a forest of cactuses and lianas. Your effort will be rewarded with a really spectacular view of Curaçao and, weather permitting, you can even see Venezuala.

The park opens every day from 7:30 to 16:00 hrs; Sundays from 6:00 to 15:00 hrs.
